The Committee has been hard at work planning your Festival.
Our record of attracting major Australian performing artists to headline the main family concert continues with the booking of premier 80’s rock band The Choirboys. I’m sure they will be enjoyable and entertaining and draw a big crowd. We’re also committed to unearthing and showcasing new local talent and, to that end, Velvette will support The Choirboys.
For the kids, we’ve booked two performances and one “meet and greet” by the Shrek: Stompin’ in the Swamp stage show. I won’t spoil the story, but I can tell you that Shrek wants to surprise Princess Fiona with her perfect dream date. So join Shrek, Princess Fiona, and the Funky Fairytale Fairy, as they tell this heart-warming story in an all singing, all dancing extravaganza.
Finally, we’re well advanced in our planning for the community group performances on the main stage. Community group performers who would like to appear on the main stage should contact us soon as spots are filling up fast. There are also spots available for community and sporting groups who would like to organise an event or activity for the Festival. All such contributions make the Festival unique. We’re also still looking for scarecrow whispers competition expressions of interest from Tuggeranong child care and education centres and after school care centres, so please get in touch if you can help.
